Chats on the Farmhouse Porch 133

Everyday Ruralty
It was the kind of day that almost makes you feel giddy. It was bright and sunny, in the 60s. The day before had been cold, rainy, snowy, sleety, hail-y! Yuk! I was worried about our gardens. That's what we do for a living. The plants survived. Yay!

Wendell would like to announce that he has a new friend. D3 brought a foal home two days ago. He is absolutely adorable. I will show some pictures as soon as I can. This is really interesting- D3's horse that she has been showing the last three years, Molly, has the same birthday as D3. (Month/Day/Year) When we went to look at the new baby, we found out that his birthday is the same month and day. It really made us both feel like the whole thing was meant to be! So, April 2nd is a birthday for D3, Molly and Gulliver. Happy Birthday to the trio.

I think a porch visit would be pleasant. Let's chat!
QUESTIONS
  1. What's your favorite method of travel?
  2. If you wear jewelry, are you more likely to wear silver or gold?
  3. How often do you wear sunglasses?
  4. Which would be easier for you to leave undone (for a short period of time), dishes or laundry?
  5. On a scale of 1-10 (1-hardly any+ 10- house is full), how much clutter have you collected?
My answers:
  1. Car or small truck. I enjoyed trains in Europe, but haven't used them much here.
  2. silver
  3. All of the time. I am a mole. I have always lived in sunglasses. I just treated myself to two new pair. That way, I can leave one in the car at all times.
  4. Laundry. I go nuts when there are dishes in the sink. It is also very hard to ignore laundry for too long with farm clothes. Somebody always needs something sooner or later- usually sooner!
  5. 100. I obviously have work ahead of me :P. Really, let's say 6. I still have lots of work to do. With too much "stuff", you start to wonder if you own it, or if it owns you.
Wishing everyone a great week!

  1. Happy Birthday to your D3, Molly and Gulliver.
In fact, I have recently learned that someone I have come to know through the Internet has the same birthday as me, though I am two years older. This "coincisence" seems to be making us feel closer to each other.

  2. I share my mother birthday with 2 old friends. One turned 92 and the other 93. I only discovered the 92 year old when we both celebrated major birthdays on the same day and could not go to each others celebration.

  4. Our house is over run with clutter. I hope one day this will all go away when we get into our dream house. For now, I just have to imagine what it must be like to have a well organized home place. Thanks for hosting the fun!

  6. So happy for Wendell that he's got company though that might mean having to share his carrots, no?

  7. Glad you have sunshine, here in CA it's been raining for most of the last two days and we are loving it - we needed the rain so badly.

  8. I can't abide dirty dishes or a uncleaned toilet. I am obsessive about them....the rest of the housework can just wait.

  10. April 2nd is also my sweet grandma's birthday. She would be 97 this year, but she's had her party in a far better place since 1993. I think that it is cool that your daughter and the horses have the same birthday. :)

    Have a great week!
