Chat 136

Everyday Ruralty

Hello! Thank you for your patience. Tuesday was an incredibly busy day. I'll have more time to enjoy a chat today. Wendell never really ate any jelly beans. He just likes something to complain about every now and then. You know, an attention getter.

I hope everyone had a lovely Easter. It is so pretty this time of year. (Pass the Kleenex!) As the trees and flowering plants bloom, so do my allergies. After our drab winter, that seemed to go on forever, it is nice to see green grass and flowers. Enjoy!
QUESTIONS
  1. Do you enjoy crossword puzzles, word finds, or any "word" activities?
  2. What's on your dining room table right now?
  3. Do you like Italian food?
  4. Did you ever want a brother, twin, or sister, when you were a child?
  5. How far away is the nearest grocery store?
My answers:

  1. I occasionally like word finds.
  2. A big clear glass bowl full of decorative Easter eggs. It had lollipops stuffed in around all the eggs. It looked kind of cute. I need to put it away soon.
  3. I love Italian food! Life has been different since I've started eating gluten free, but there are so many good gluten free pastas that I can still enjoy these favorites.
  4. I always wanted a big brother who could be protective of me. I had a bully for seven years of grade school, and I was sure a big brother would have prevented that. I had a friend who had the most wonderful big brother. I wanted one too.
  5. Our nearest grocery store is about six or seven miles away. The ones I like are in a nearby city, but they are over 30 miles away. I shop there whenever I'm in the area for other things.

  2. Oh, Ms. Patrice, I'm so sorry about your allergies! Hubby has a black truck and it looked horrible until we drove around in the rain yesterday!!! ;-) HOPE you feel better soon!

  8. Your questions were interesting. My answers: I love word games. My dining room table has a fall table cloth on it and fall-colored candles. I guess it is time to change to spring, eh? I love Italian food, especially anything with melted, gooey cheese! I don't think I ever thought about having another sibling, but as a teenager I wanted to have twins when I had children. I'm so glad that didn't happen! We have a grocery store about 4 miles from us, but the one I usually use is just under 7 miles from us.

  9. You know, my first response to #4 was I didn't know if I wanted siblings. But, after reading your answer, I remembered I also wanted a big brother. As it turned out, I learned later in life I had a big half brother, but we were never close. However, my uncles and aunts felt like big brothers and sisters to me, especially the younger ones who were only 10 -12 years older than me. Why my baby sister is 9-years younger than me. Have a great rest of the week!

  10. I was the big sister in my family. It doesn't work quite as good for brothers to have a big sister protecting them as it does for a little sister having a big brother protecting her. By trying to protect my younger brothers from the bullies, I think I ultimately made things worse for them because a "girrrrrl" was fighting for them. I just couldn't stand by and watch them get beaten up! I got a black eye for it on one occasion, too, from one of the bullies, not my brothers. I wish that you could have had someone to protect you from the bullies. I also hope that those bullies finally outgrew their meanness. The last I heard, one of the tormentors of my brothers was on the school board of the district we went to.

The most and best stores are about 30 miles away from us, too.

Your Easter decoration sounds really cute!

    Have a great week. :)
