Chat 115 and Wendell's Grain Report

Everyday Ruralty
Hello, friends! Thank you for the good wishes. I apologize for not visiting everyone for the last two chats. I understand that my horse told you what was going on, with the help of my daughter. Just to clarify things- I never took Wendell's grain. I had two weeks of migraines. No horse was starved because of my achy noggin!
I am up and running, as usual. I had the joy of celebrating my daughter's nineteenth birthday with her this past weekend. I also went to a healing conference/church service that was amazing. My precious friend took her young son who suffers from seizures. I watched a few hundred people pray over a charming young man with cancer. I lack words to tell you any more about this incredible day. I could never do it justice.
I found a recipe for gluten free apple dumplings on that addictive "Pin" thing! I have made them twice. I think I will need to go to an inpatient program to break this addiction! The apples are so good this time of year. Hubby brings them home from the farmers' market that we do. The last bushel was so big that I couldn't use my old fashioned apple peeler with them. At least they were less tedious than peeling little apples. Soup appears in my kitchen a lot now. Normally, by this time of the fall season, I drink gallons of hot tea. I haven't geared up for that yet. I'm just not craving it like I usually do. Odd~~ Hot tea would certainly be good with those apple dumplings! Just saying...
I had a few people unfollow me over the last month. I want to thank those of you who stuck with me through thick and thin. I send you a big hug.
  1. Do you have any special plans for this week?
  2. What's the most relaxing thing you do?
  3. Have you ever worn a wig?(play, dress-up, or for real)
  4. Do you have an office or special place to use your computer?
  5. What are your favorite kind of socks?
My answers:
  1. We will be having a get together with friends later in the week.
  2. A nap. I would have said a long, hot bath, but there is a plumbing problem with my old bathtub. Hopefully, I can resume soaking soon.
  3. I have worn them with various costumes, but never to change my looks for real. I have a friend who wears wigs when she gets bored with her hair. I just change the color.
  4. I used to have a desk, but my hubby took it over as a TV stand. Grrr! I now use the cooking island, dining room table, or my lap when I sit in a comfy chair.
  5. I like cotton when it isn't cold out (and when I'm not in sandals). In the winter, I like my wool socks. Sometimes my decision is based on the shoes or boots that I wear. They don't all fit right with the same socks.
Have a good week, dear people! Wendell send horsey hugs. :)

  1. So glad you're back amongst the living!! Migraines are terrible....mine went away after menopause. :-) HOPE you have a great week!

  2. I'm glad you are feeling better. I got out of sync and put up a blog post already, so I'll join the conversation from here - where it is far too cold to sit ouside :((
    1. This week is unusual as there is nothing on the calendar except taking my Dad's lady friend to lunch and to view a condo. So I get to play at home!
    2. I've been making cards and learning paper quilling. I think that is pretty relaxing.
    3. I wore a wig when I was first married... just for fun on a few occasions. I had long hair and it was fun to have short hair now and then.
    4. We don't have a special place for our 'office'. I tend to sit in the living room with my laptop. Hubby has taken over a desk in the bedroom.
    5. I also like wool socks. My favorite brand is "Darn Tough" because they are! I have only gone through the heel on one pair. That is amazing for me!

I hope you have a good week. Don't let the spooks get you!

  3. So sorry to hear about your migraines. They aren't fun - AT ALL!

I won't answer all the questions, but a few. I use my computer on a table in the schoolroom. AND, my favorite socks are ankle socks. I don't like tight things and socks aren't excluded from that. I don't like to wear shoes either. Hah! Barefoot is my thing.

    Have a great week.

  4. So sorry about your migraines. I get them, too :( Glad you are feeling better now!

  5. Well, I glad you are better. I have a 6 foot claw foot tub, that by the time I get it filled up the water is cold again. I love soaking in it.

  6. So glad you are feeling better!

  7. Patrice, good news you're feeling better.

  8. No wigs for me! lol Glad you are feeling better.

  9. I'm glad that you're feeling better and am glad to see you here this week.

I hope that you'll be able to take a nice, long soak again soon. :)

    Have a great week!

  10. I am glad you are feeling better..Wendall did a great job even if he did get "grain" mixed up...He's such a nice fellow....If you have had followers to leave it's definitely their loss.....I had one to disappear this week too but that's OK.....
The apple dumplings sounds delicious and boy would I love to have one right now....Take care and now you are loved....

  11. Migraines are the worst -- seem they get more frequent in the colder months, based on my blogger friends. Hope you don't get any relapses!
