Chats on the Farmhouse Porch 110

Everyday Ruralty
Hello, everyone! I don't know why there's horse hair all over my computer. There are hoof marks on the floor too. Hmm? Oh, well. I'm loving the cool weather. You need to wear a sweater of sweatshirt in the morning, but it is warmer by the afternoon. We had a high of 90 degrees last week, and a low in the high 40s. I just saw something about a boot sale. It happens I drive right by that store tomorrow. Yippee!
I just looked at a blog that had beautiful pictures of a house. The blog owner had great taste and put a lot of time, energy, and money into her home and it showed. I don't have any of those three  things, but I'm determined to make my house into a place that makes me happy. I'll show you some of the improvements. Most of it will involve a paint brush. Paint is an inexpensive way to make a home look better. Then I need to tackle the clutter. Maybe I can just paint it. (Just kidding!) Now, I'll see if I can get my kids to help me. Bribes, guilt, begging- ah, the choices!
QUESTIONS
  1. What's  the one thing you feel is the biggest waste of  your time during an average week?
  2. When was the last time you baked a pie?
  3. What do you want to spend time doing that you aren't right now?
  4. What do you do with old clothes?
  5. If we were having lunch on the porch today, what would you bring for the potluck styled lunch?
My answers:
  1. The computer that I'm typing this on. A little bit goes a long way! I can visit FB and Pinterest, but I don't need to make it a full-time job.
  2. Last fall, but I'm baking a few apple pies today. I have a crate of baking apples from the farmers market. Hubby couldn't remember what variety, but they are big and beautiful.
  3. I want to spend time doing more artwork, but I get caught up in all sorts of things that I wouldn't be caught up with if I conquered the clutter thing. Do you spend too much time looking for things too?
  4. I take the good ones to a consignment store, older good ones go to a charity, and things in rotten condition go to fabric recycling that benefits an local animal spay and neuter charity.
  5. I would bring one of my apple pies. I would also bring a quiche with broccoli rabe and red peppers. I made one the other night and it was wonderful.
Have a super week!

  3. Fabric recycling sounds awesome. Clutter is always a problem, but I also have things that are still packed from our move.

  7. Ha! We both said apple pies! I love the sound of having a load of apples from the market ...nothing like that here - just the supermarket ones. Still, it doesn't stop us making these pies, does it ;)

  8. I left conquer clutter off my list, but I've been working on it and trying to get rid of stuff everyday. I just need to get it out of my house that day or the next instead of waiting for Big Brothers to call. We had a 90 degree day Thursday and Friday was a high of 81 and a low of 60, and it feels pretty cool now. Yay for cooler weather.
