Chats on the Farmhouse Porch 78

Everyday Ruralty
Welcome to the porch! Each week I post 5 questions, that you can answer in a blog post. The post can be linked at the bottom of this page. Then all those participating can visit other blogs and see what answers the blogger gives. Even if you've never chatted on the porch, you can join us today. We'd love to have a chat with you.

I hope that you will enter my GIVEAWAY.
It's been bitter cold lately, so our chat can be inside with a warm drink. We can just pretend we're on the porch. Here are the questions for today:
Questions
  1. What is your favorite time of day to read? If you don't enjoy reading, then what is your favorite time to watch TV/movies?
  2. Did you watch the Super Bowl? If so, what was your favorite commercial? If you didn't watch it, what did you do Sunday night?
  3. Have you been watching Downton Abbey?Who's your favorite character? If not, have you seen any interesting TV or movies series lately?
  4. Do you enjoy home parties for selling items? (like Pampered Chef, Southern Living, Mary Kay)
  5. Please finish this sentence. If I work very hard, I can__________________.
My answers:
  1. I like to read in the evening, but not too late or it lulls me to sleep.
  2. I was watching a movie in the next room, but I got to see all the good Super Bowl Commercials. My favorite was the Clydesdale, but the Ram Tough Commercial with Paul Harvey talking about Farming was awesome!!! The goat was funny. I did not like the one with the model and the geek- blah!
  3. I wasn't going to start watching it, but my oldest brought the dvd of the first season home and I got hooked. I love historical movies set in England. My favorite characters (sorry, I can't pick just one) are Anna and Sybil (sob-sniffle-sob).
  4. I used to like them, depending on what was being sold. Now I'm working too hard to save pennies.
  5. If I work very hard, I can get some of the home improvements( painting and wallpapering) done before we are in the thick of planting. Then hubby can put in our new floors.

I hope that everyone will visit others who link to this chat. Remember that some folks don't link their posts until later in the week. Stop by and see if there's someone new who might like a visit from you. :)

  6. The add with the model and the geek was one of the Superbowl ads that I DID get to see. Over here in Australia, the adds make the headlines before the game itself.....oh an Beyonce was big news too!

  9. The Clydesdales are such beautiful creatures and their commercials are great, especially the Christmas ones. :)

I hope that Wendell is doing better.

    Have a great week, Patrice!

  10. I tried to get into Downton Abbey but I just couldn't. It's too soap opera-y for me. Deanie and DoodleBug are into it though. Hard core. I liked the Clydesdale one too. So sweet. The goat one was ok too. But the commercials, as a whole, have just gotten below Super Bowl expectations. It's sad really.

  12. I wasn't really impressed with the commercials this year. But the farmer one I loved! Downton Abbey is one of our favorites! I'm addicted to Pampered Chef. That is why I usually host a party once a year. That way I am able to get free or at a discount items.

  13. I just watch the superbowl for the commercials too and that go daddy girl and the geek was really super gross, they even showed an extended version of it on the news the next morning ick! They had the geek on for an interview and they said they had to do over 45 takes! YIKES ICK! Why do they think these things are funny? We didn't like Beyonce's strip show for the half time show either lol

I'm hooked on Downton Abbey too! I've only seen one episode so now i'm sad and can't wait for more.
