Wendell has been enjoying his time in the pasture with Rocky and Ricky. The Percherons have been together forever, so it's fortunate that they will accept Wendell.
Ricky is a gentle soul, but he tends to be somewhat skiddish. He's blind in one eye
and relies greatly on his best friend, Rocky.
Rocky is so good to his Ricky. He knows his friend needs him.
Rocky is not concerned with how he looks. It's more important
for him to find a great place to roll and scratch his back. You can
see the lovely dirt marks from his favorite activity!
These photos were from a few weeks earlier. Since then, our pastures have been blanketed by snow. Now it has all been reduced to slushy stuff!
Aw, they are beautiful.
ReplyDeletei love your big furry friendly beasties.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet that Rocky looks after Ricky. I think Wendell fits in just right. xo
ReplyDeletePercherons are such sweet gentle giants. Rocky and Ricky are kind to include Wendell in their little herd. Great photos, and I'd love to see photos of them in the snow! ;P

ReplyDeleteDoodleBug has been over here all weekend because she's sick. We've just been enjoying your pictures on this post and some others. She asked if we were going to get to see your farm if we get to go to DC in April. :)

ReplyDeleteHello Patrice, thank you for the lovely visit. I love your blog . . . and your farm is amazing. It must be so much fun living in the country and having animals and room to hoop and holler. Well, your recipe for Peanut Butter Pancakes and Banana Foster Topping is going to put me high upon the best wife ever list. I can just see my Steve in pig-out heaven with those :) . . . . and just in time for valentines, thank you.
ReplyDeleteI am your newest follower and I would be honored if you revisit and decide to follow me back. Also, I think that you would love journaling . . . living on your farm, I see so many wonderful opportunities to turn your daily life into a lovely art journal and preserve all your country life adventures.
I do hope to see you again . . . and on my followers list :)
Your bogging sister, Connie :)
I would love to give Ricky, Rocky and Wendell big hugs. I'd love to bury my face in their fluffy necks and inhale....deeply!
ReplyDeleteoh i hope they will become great friends!
ReplyDeleteOh, so sweet! What a lovely story to read. Ricky and Rocky are the epitome of friendship! Maybe they will extend that to Wendell too : )
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Terri
Horses are amazing. I used to ride a blind horse and he was delightful, he was a very sweet and trusting boy. It's nice that Ricky and Rocky have each other (and Wendell!)
