The girls are expecting. There are a few here who still fit in their skinny jeans, but most of our flock will
lamb in the next six weeks. I'm so excited about having tiny lambs.
This picture shows the expectant moms better. You can see the ones who stick out on their sides. The ram is the last one in line on the way to the barn. The moms are always the first there when dinner is served!
congrats to thems!!! :)
ReplyDeleteoh Patrice, HOW EXCITING!!! The sheep ranches are to the east of us about 75 miles - i love driving past when all the little babies are springing up everywhere, cavorting, playing, without a care in the world in the green green grass...its like the most amazing definition of "being in the moment happy" there is!
ReplyDeleteI want to visit you so much!!! Can't wait to see the little lambs...how very precious!!!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! My mom wants a lamb in the worst way!
ReplyDeleteColletta
how exciting!! lots of pink & blue balloons every where, right? ha. ha!!
ReplyDeleteseriously, how do you decide when to do this? - do you have a calendar or ? i'm always very fascinate by farming ways of life. ever watched the "McLeod Sisters"... they supposedly farm in Australia. ( :
I always wanted to have sheep! I have always had Shelties and herding dogs, and wished I had sheep. My Maisie had a grandfather who was a Canadian Champion. I never had her tested; wish I had. She could herd cats well.
ReplyDeleteKeep us posted; this is awesome. I love them.
Shelties are great dogs. My sister had one. With that said, I'm not sure she could herd sheep. :)
Deleteohhhh I am jealous 1st the piggies and baby lambs ohhh I will be living thru your blog vicariously all spring lol. I so want my lil farm but as I said before we are having to do fencing in sections of affordability so it is a slow process but will be worth it and our animals will thank us for keeping them safe properly. please please keep posting pics ;]
ReplyDeleteLet's just say that I'm treading the path first, then you won't have to make all the first timer mistakes. :)

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful time of year. New little lambs in time for Easter. I have this obsession with little lambs lately because I keep seeing vintage figurines of them. I'm wanting to find a couple of little figurines for my Easter decor. Can't wait to see pics of the new babies when they arrive.
ReplyDeleteOh I love expectant Moms I am just starting to see the end of our birthing time. There are many new calves running around. I love that. Your sheep are so adorable. B
ReplyDeletePatrice, what kind of sheep are those? I could guess but easier to ask -grin-.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see pictures of gamboling baby lambs! They are so adorable. We had a pet lamb- corriedale named Abigail. My Mom was a spinner and weaver and wanted her own wool source. She was a dear sheep and lived a very long and pampered life and gave us lots of glorious wool!!
ReplyDeleteI can't resist ~"Ewe's not fat... ewe's fluffy"!!! I saw that saying years ago in a gift shop and it hasn't left me yet. I bought something that had this written on it for my mother. What the heck? At the gift shop she thought it was funny. As a gift to her, not so much!! Can't please some people! LOL
