Tea

I've mentioned, quite a few times, how I enjoy tea. I grew up with the standard Lipton, but I've discovered so many wonderful teas. My oldest daughter has discovered a wonderful tea shop near the farmers' market where we sell our farm products. She has discovered a huge array of loose tea. Imagine having a tea shop. I think I'd be very happy with a business like that. Has anyone seen the movie Cranford? It's a favorite for me and one of my daughters. It's about a town in England in 1840. It was from the book by Elizabeth Gaskill. You may know her work by North and South, or Wives and Daughters. If you are a Jane Austen fan, you will love her work. There is a second Cranford movie, and it's excellent. Quite often, second movies are a disappointment. Not this one!

Uh- was I talking about tea? I went down a rabbit trail with the movie, Cranford, because a loved character named Miss Matty owned a tea shop. She was played by the awesome Judy Dench. I have a friend who is   could be her twin. I found myself dreaming of a tea shop after seeing the movie. For now, I will have to settle for my gigantic t in filled with my tea bags. Tea anyone? What's your favorite kind of tea?

  1. I have a rather large tea collection myself and I was just thinking last night that I need to make sure and pack up my teas to take out west when we move.

I enjoy a nice cup of herbal tea, maybe a Cinnamon or Apple Cider tea this time of year.

  2. I like English Breakfast Tea, but I also like to try some varieties of black teas with vanilla and other essences. My hubby brought me a can back from somewhere when he traveled and it was awesome. I think it was a black tea with amaretto or something. I used it up way too fast. :)

  4. My favorite tea is still Camomile. I used to drink lots more tea than I do now though. I love Miss Mattie too. I agree, the second Cranford is just as good as the first. I have been reading North and South lately. I just love the books too.

  5. I will have to admit I do not like a lot of varieties of teas. However, the ones I absolutely love have lots of spice. Like apple cinnamon or orange spice. I also really enjoy peppermint.

  6. I've always thought I should venture out and try new teas, not just the old standard Lipton decaf tea!! Maybe when I come and visit you that will happen!!! ;-)

  7. Hi Patrice, I always enjoy visiting your blog. I love your tins of flavored teas. I grew up drinking mama's sweet Lipton iced tea. In recent years, I have enjoyed tasting different hot teas. I enjoy orange spice this time of year.

  9. Believe it or not, I am one of those weird people who does NOT like tea unless it is a Long Island Iced Tea, and I know there is no tea in it. I've kept trying, and I can gulp down some Sleepy Time Tea if I am desperate, but that's about it. I will keep trying the warm ones, but iced tea has NEVER floated my boat in any way shape or for. Poor hubby loves the stuff, but I rarely make what I don't like. (Is that a bad thing? Do other women do that?) I will set out some sun tea for him in the summer now and then, but that's a rare day as he would be unhappy to tell you.

  11. With all your tea and all my tea sets we could have one mind blowing tea party! So glad you liked your tin. I couldn't wait for you to get it. I knew the moment I saw it that you had to have it. My sister would go crazy over your assortment of tea bags. It is really ironic that as much as I collect tea sets I do not drink tea...ever. I just never acquired a taste for it but I come from a family of heavy sweet tea drinkers. It just skipped my genes I guess.
