Thinking of Friends

I like to surround myself with things that make me think of friends and family. There are also some things that just make us happy, like items we find at an antique shop or a thrift shop. I stumbled on a find last week that makes me smile each time I see my purchase. I'll share that post with you next week.

Lately I've had a gift in my kitchen from dear, sweet Farm Girl at My Field of Dreams. I sometimes forget to pull out items that are related to a certain season or holiday, but I remembered these fun towels and I'm really enjoying them.

I am so happy Farm Girl sent these to me, but this post is about more than  towels. I'm writing to you today to tell you how much blogging has enriched my life. I read about a sweet friend who's going through some terrible health trials, and I read about friends who have wonderful things happening in the next week or so. I cry with you, and I celebrate with you. I'm thankful for some of the precious people I've met because of Everyday Ruralty. When I look at these towels, I'm reminded that there are people in various places in this world, who seem closer because we can share stories, ideas, or just LIFE. There are zillions of blogs out there and I appreciate each person who stops by my little farm for a visit. Wendell is still acquiring a taste for virtual carrots, but as you know, some things take time! :)

  1. Hi Patrice, I love that Farm Girl and she's as sweet as they come. I think of people too who have crossed my path on Boggerland and I cherish them. I'm not the best at sending gifts even though I want to but somehow it gets put on the back burner and I have to play catch up all the time.

Those little Fall towels are real cute and a great reminder of her friendship to you. Have a great weekend and Wendell too of course.

  2. I can see why you love the towels. Feel the same way you do about blogging friends and would love to meet every one in person.
Hopefully the friend going through hard times will feel all the support we are giving her.

  3. You know what? I wasn't even going to turn on my computer today. I thought well, I can spare a few minutes this morning and I am glad I did.
I ran across that picture I took when you won that giveaway and we got to meet. I forgot about making those.
I am still so glad you won them. Yes, blogging has changed my life for the better. It has given me such wonderful friends.
I want to say ditto to everything you said. It is true.
So glad you are my friend.
    Have a very nice weekend.

  4. Hi Patrice!
What lovely towels, and such a beautiful, thoughtful gift.
I wonder what I did before joining this wonderful blogging 'family'? It's a roller coaster reading about each others ups and downs, but heart warming that there is such amazing support out there from our caring, virtual friends.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts...

  7. Those lil towels are precious and I am the same way I pulled out a tub of Halloween things today not really thinking of what might be in it and found all these wonderful decorations I forgot I had stored in that particular tub haha. I think what you wrote on the wonderful people in our blog community was just perfect so many days when it is so much effort to look in the mirror because of what we might see ... so instead we head to our blogs & there it is ......that simple - perfect- oh so meaningful comment that changes the whole day!!! You have done so many great things by your porch chats Patrice & I for one & am internally grateful !!! Plus I love my portrait it & those pretty blue earrings was my one time claim to fame as a winner LOL but I have many who just LOVE the portrait of Dollie & want portraits of their own babies.
Blessings & love always sent your way from me ~Janice~ no more Footsteps I had to change my blog name...I am Rockin My Journey new name same Janice

  12. Hugs to you. I think I know who you are keeping in your thoughts and prayers. I've spent the last few days trying to wrap my head around her news.......sigh.......I guess all any if us has is the current day that the Good Lord gave us. I am so happy for how much she has done with her life, and I am sad for what she will not have. K will have a letter to G soon. We are finishing up volleyball and soccer this week. WOOOO! The only down side us that basketball call out is Tuesday. Lord have Mercy! We have two corn fields and one bean field left, about 400 acres left. Could be done with our crops in less than two weeks if yhe weather holds. We are also bottle-feeding four steers for possible 4-H projects. Crazy crazy!
