Chats on the Farmhouse Porch 61

Everyday Ruralty
Hello lovely people who visit my porch! I hope you've had a good week. Wendell is here with us and will be answering under my answers. We were in a store today and there were Halloween displays in one aisle and Christmas in the next. My daughter noticed that a big spooky thing was peeking over the aisle it was located in and pointed directly towards a Santa decoration. She asked me if I thought Santa would be scared.:)
I would be! I don't like scary things. I hope you enjoyed my back scratching movie yesterday. Being a star is highly over-rated. I have yet to see a limo hooked to my horse trailer. I'm still waiting for room service. Poor Wendell- no room service! What's this world coming to?

Questions
  1. Please tell me a fond autumn memory. Or tell me something interesting you're doing now that fall is here.
  2. What's your favorite kind of cheese?
  3. Have you ever been in a wedding, other than your own (if applicable)?
  4. Did you ever do anything as a child to earn money? (Lemon aid stand, crafts, mother's helper, chores, etc.)
  5. Do you wear a watch?
Our answers (Wen and me):
  1. I remember going out to a favorite picnic spot at the edge of our forest. We ate, walked around and talked. After a while we all sat down on tree stumps or logs. Within minutes, the whole family was rolling in leaves.(Hubby was still sitting on a log, but we'll forgive him. Leaves were being throw in the air, and giggles were everywhere. Fun! I remember being just a young foal when there were leaves falling from a big tree and I tried  to outrun them. I'm a very fast Wendell!
  2. I like Havarti best. I also like Gouda, Brie, and Camenbert. I will never turn down cheddar, monterey jack, mozzerella- especially the fresh kind. I like most cheeses, except blue cheese. I never got a taste for it. Horses do not eat cheese!
  3. Yes. I was a bridesmaid so  many times that they could have based a funny movie script on my experiences! No, I'm still waiting for someone to ask. Know anyone who needs a Wendell in a tux?
  4. I used to make paper flowers and go door to door in our neighborhood. The neighbors humored me and I thought I was rich! No, I had a deprived childhood (foalhood?)!
  5. I used to, but I'm SO hard on watches. After the last four I broke, I quit wearing them. Hubby would tell you that they never helped anyway, because I run on casual time. Wendell doesn't have a watch. I've been thinking of having Patrice buy me a battery run kitchen clock so I could wear it on my horse suit. Then, I'd never be late for dinner. I think a cuckoo clock mighty be fun, but it would disturb my beauty sleep. Cuckoo! Now if that little bird had a carrot, we could definitely talk about this one. Cuckoo Carrots! Yes!!!!
Have a wonderful week!

  2. I remember long walks in the woods when we were little. There is just something about hearing the crunch of fallen leaves under your feet. When I was six, we sat on a stump and a lizard ran across the toe of my saddle oxford. To this day, I freak...I mean TOTALLY freak out around lizards. Gives me the shivers. And Wendell, if I could invent carrot cheese, I bet you would eat that.

  3. Sorry Patrice for not linking up again but I love your questions and answers. I have a difficult time visiting all my followers as is. Poor Wendall, having a deprived foalhood. I hope that he's not scared for life the sweet guy.

I love picking apples in the fall and my all time favorite cheese is Montagnolo, I think it's to die for, very rich though. Actually it goes real well with apples.

The only wedding that I participated in was my own, a good thing I was there...

As a young girl I made a small income babysitting.

I only wear a watch when I dress up to go out rather than having to look at the time on my cell phone.
I hope that your week is filled with nice things.
