White Skirt Remake

I learned to sew as a young girl. Back then, it was an inexpensive hobby. I've found you can buy clothes much cheaper than you can make them. I guess the exception to this would be a great sale at a fabric store.

Since I enjoy thrift shops and consignment stores, I usually look at clothing with an eye for turning items into something else. Here's a recent remake. I bough this XXXL skirt for $3 and turned it into a sundress.

  4. I love it! You're so talented and creative! (Love the dress with the boots, too!)

I'm just now learning to do some sewing (and you're right, the cost of fabric these days is ridiculous). I hope to one day be able to do just what you did to that skirt.

That lamb is such a cutie! (I, too, thought it was a goat at first, heehee.)

  10. This is very pretty, Patrice. You did a great job. :)

When my oldest daughter was little, maybe about 2 years old, I turned a man's t-shirt into a romper for her. It is fun to repurpose things like this!

Thanks for sharing such a pretty project with us.

  11. How cute is that? I have the machine, and I love working without a pattern, now I just need the time and the inspiration! Hello dear friend! It's been a while, but the girls are in school now for the second day in a row, and this is my first morning to myself in it seems like FOREVER!. Hope all is well. I'm working on catching up with everyone. K keeps looking for a letter from G in the mailbox, but she knows how busy her summer has been and thinks G's has probably been the same. Here's to everyone catching up on each other's news!
