Crawling Baby

Once upon a time, there was a tiny little baby who was new to crawling. Mamma was arranging things in the bedroom and she put the baby on the floor to play. The baby loved her new mobility and had perfected crawling so that she crawled very fast. It was as if she had an outboard motor. Mamma put her down and she took off.
Seventeen years later she did the same thing. She crawled off to college! Her mamma writes this blog. That mamma is happy for her, and sad at the same time. Blessings, my baby... no more crawling, it's time to soar.

Happy Anniversary, C.S.Farmer!
20 years :)

  1. What a lovely post. Happy anniversary! Those babies crawl off far too quickly, don`t they?

  2. Oh, this is so very precious. I know you're daughter is going to do great...and so will you....eventually! :'( When our daughter left home, not for college 'cause she lived at home when she went to college, but when she got married...it took me close to 18 months to get over her leaving...of course my hubby got transferred to second shift at the same time so I had a lot of very lonely nights...in the dead of winter. Oh, how did I get so far off track...I'm sorry. Congrats to your beautiful daughter!!!

    1. Talk about bad timing! What a time for your husband to get another shift at work. It's nice to know I'm not alone.

  3. Oh Happy anniversary to you both!

Hmmm... bittersweet - seeing them going off to do what they're being led to is what we train them for, yet... yet, Momma's heart wants to KEEP them right there, crawling beside her.

Blessings to her, and to you all :)

  4. Happy Anniversary!
It is so hard to send them off to college. But, if you are at all like me, within a few weeks it will feel normal. Yeah, you'll still miss her, but that emptiness won't hurt as much!

Anyway, out there in the deep recess of the internet is a letter I wrote you. :)
I just wanted you to know.
I hope you have a nice Wednesday.

  9. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY. It's hard to let them get away where they have to be on their own but the earth is full of such little girls who grow up too fast and they have the phone if they need help.
I hope that she keeps in touch to ease your mind. Hugs. JB

  12. Happy Anniversary! Our 20th is coming soon too. Y'all must be so very proud of D1 & you are lucky to just be an hour away. This way she is gaining her confidence as an independent young woman, but mama is just a short drive away. And we mamas need that short drive I think, more than they do :o)
