I'm a Little Teapot

...short and stout? Hardly! I'm almost six feet tall. Actually, I was referring to a cute little teapot that came to me from my mother. This wasn't a family piece that was handed down, but something she'd found, probably in a cozy shop while spending some time with a friend. My mother loved to browse through antique stores. Let me show you the teapot I was singing about. Come to think of it, it's neither short, nor stout. It is very pretty.

Do you have a favorite teapot? I'm convinced that tea tastes better when it's poured from a teapot. I tend to just boil water in the kettle and pour it over a tea bag in a mug. I still like pretty teapots though.

  1. That is very beautiful. Wow! My mom has an old one with a similar print of violets or something. She also has a tall one she has had since I was very young. She is giving it to me when I move to VA. I still have my eye on the other one though.

  3. Your teapot is lovely; such a nice way to enjoy a cuppa. I have several teapots I enjoy using and, some mornings, I make a pot full of Lady Gray and enjoy throughout the day.

  4. What a gorgeous teapot.....I like them too but like you tend to end up using a kettle and a favorite mug....They are beautiful to have on display though and thinking of the day I will slow down and enjoy a teapot such as this....

  5. My MIL is a tea person. She used to take my sons to 'high tea'. It caught with one. He loves good tea and has special pots for brewing it.
We used to give "Grammy" tea pots for Christmas. She has quite a collection! But, nothing like your's! It's beautiful!

  6. I like them too. I always think tea does taste better from a teapot, but of course I do just like you boil water and pour it over the teabag.

I just have one tea pot I use and on the bottom it says made in occupied Japan. I have used it since I was a teenager. Someone gave it to my Mom after they were stationed there after WW ll.
The one thing in my house I always worry about if there was a bad earthquake is my little tea pot. Nothing else except my family. Weird isn't it?
Have a great day Patrice. I hope you have a Great Worry Free Mother's Day.

  8. How adorable! Nope, I don't have a favorite teapot; my daddy is the tea drinker in the family. However, I have ALWAYS loved violets, so this versatile ensemble is even more wonderful!

  11. What a sweet teapot! DoodleBug would love it! She and my grandmother had a thing about teapots and tea parties. Maybe I should do a post about it. She has my grandmother's very first teapot and about a hundred others that she's collected over the years.
