Chats on the Farmhouse Porch 36

Hello! Welcome to my porch. I'm not sure where we can visit today. We've had summer weather, but it is supposed to drop into the thirties. Eighty degrees to thirty degrees? I'm sorry to anyone experiencing this. It's my fault. :(sob:( I have to admit this- uh, it's good for the soul- right? Okay, here it goes...I changed my closet from my fall/winter clothes to my spring/summer clothes. Whew! I had to fess up and tell you the truth.

Let's get to our questions this week. I ask the questions to get conversations going. I'm happy to see that so many of you visit the other participants. I know, because each week I visit everyone who links up. If you haven't joined in on our "Chats", I'd like to invite you to this week.
Questions
  1. What was your favorite book as a child?
  2. Dark chocolate, Milk Chocolate, or White Chocolate?
  3. What's your biggest "pet peeve" when it comes to your kitchen?
  4. Do you use any type of water filter in your home? (Whole house, faucet mount, or pitcher)
  5. What's the herb you use the most in cooking?
My answers:
  1. Charlotte's Web
  2. Dark!Yes, please. Now- sounds great!
  3. I go nuts when certain members of the family rinse their hands (read-no soap) and wipe them on a towel.(Wendell doesn't do this. He's such a good boy!) I'm a bit picky about where my pots go on my pot rack, but I can deal with that much better than the towel thing.
  4. We have a Brita Pitcher. We have well water, and most of the time it's okay. The family likes the filtered water better.
  5. This is tough. I love to cook with herbs. Fresh are the best, but not always possible. In the summer, I use lots of basil. Year round I use lots of thyme and a pretty good amount of rosemary.
I'm so glad you stopped by for a visit.
Have an interesting week.
I look forward to meeting you here next week!

  1. I could add I can't stand it when my kids use my dish towels and dish clothes to wipe off the dry erase boards.

2 We get to taste dog chocolate sometimes

3 "pet peeve" it has to be my sister Tess, as I was moved out of the kitchen when she arrived, now she gets the best bed in the house!! I sleep on the sofa!

4 We have council pop as mom calls it, straight out of the tap

5 I don't cook but outside in the garden is fresh rosemary,we smell nice if we rub up against it. We know if she pick some we are in for a good dinner:)

  4. I agree that now would be a great time for chocolate. Charlotte's Web was a fun book, too. :)

    Have a great week!

  5. I laughed at your weather confession. Last week we were in short sleeves for a few days and this morning we had a snow storm. My friend told me it was her fault because she just bought a pair of flip flops!

  6. I don't like that in my kitchen either. As a matter of fact, I tell them to wash their hands in the bathroom NOT my kitchen. What are they thinking? :) Our Diatomaceous Earth arrived yesterday and we started on it today. I put it in my smoothie and on Tucker's food. After his bath, he's getting it rubbed on him. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge on these things with me! You have no idea how very much it is appreciated!

  7. Thanks for hosting! The weather has been crazy, but thankfully ours hasn't made too much of a swing. I keep thinking this will happen anytime, but it hasn't. The new month is almost here and we certainly may see change then. It seems like we always do.
