Chats on the Farmhouse Porch

Thanks for joining me on the porch of my farmhouse.. Please pull up a chair and join in. You can either answer in comments or do your own post. My button isn't working correctly and needs an appointment with the HTML doctor. You're welcome to add the button to your post, but it will not connect back until fixed.

I hope everyone has had a good week since we visited last week. I know it's very hot in many areas. We've had it so dry too. Last night we actually got some rain. There was a puddle in the driveway. I found myself going to the window just to look at it. After a few hours of heat it was gone.

Here are your questions for the day:
  1.  What season was your wedding? If you aren't married, the what season is your birthday?
  2. What names did you call your grandparents?(ie- grandma, granny, gran, grammie)
  3. What's your favorite smell that comes from your oven?
  4. If you eat eggs- scrambled, fried, over easy, sunny side up, or other?
  5. What's the tidiest room in your house? What's the messiest?
My answers:
  1. Summer. The very hottest time of summer. What sense does that make? I love cooler weather.
  2. I only knew one grandmother and she was Grammie.
  3. Probably something with cinnamon.
  4. Fried or scrambled.
  5. The tidiest is my new living room. The messiest is my room. It seems to be the place to deposit everything that doesn't have a home of its own. :(
Have a good rest of the week. I hope you will join me each week. Don't hesitate to link up interesting pictures or posts, but this is not for businesses or giveaways.

Thanks for dropping by!
You're special.

  1. Very nice questions, I like these and I can't wait to answer them.
You got married in the Summer?
I think that is nice. That is funny that everything gets put in your room. I wonder why that is?
    You only had one Grammie?
I will be posting later, after Pride and Prunejuice as My kids called it.
Hey you know in the Colin Firth Pride, Did you know in real life Mrs.Gardiner and Georgiana were in real life mother and daughter? I was looking stuff up today.

  2. 1 Summertime
    2 Mimmim and Pucky
    3 Pumpkin Pie
    4 Every way - I LOVE eggs
5 Master bathroom / Laundry room

    Fun stuff...see you later!

  3. Here are my answers:

    1. What season was your wedding? - Summer (August)
    2. Grams and Papa
    3. Bread!
    4. Over easy!
    5. The garage / The upstairs bathroom that the kids use.

  4. Great quesions.

    My wedding was in June.
Grandma or Grandpa with their last name added.
    Yeast bread.
    Sunny side up.
Neatest room is mine, messiest is the tv/hubby room.

  5. Our room is often the messiest but when Birdie moved to Texas and DoodleBug moved to a different house, they both left stuff they didn't want behind in the family room..it's a M.E.S.S.

  6. 1. What season... My birthday is coming up later this month. I am a total summer girl.
The guy I've been with for a quarter century also finally hooked up with me in summer. We had known each other a couple years, having met in summer at our weekend regular activity. (autoracing)
2.What names... my grandparents were gone before I arrived except for Grampa who lived with us. Where I grew up it was common to have multiple generations in one house. No retirement homes for any of the families in our neighborhood.
3.What's your favorite smell that comes from your oven? Anything someone else is making.
4.If you eat eggs - I prefer omlets. I most often make scrambled eggs.
5.What's the tidiest room in your house? Is there one?
    What's the messiest?
At the moment the kitchen. I am in the middle of total reorganization.

  7. 1. Summer - it was like 99* and I nearly passed out from being stuffed in 7 layers of dress!
    2. My mom's parents are Mamaw & Papaw, my Papaw's mom was Mam. My dad's mom (his dad passed away when he was 9) was Grandma (and you'd better not call her Granny!) & whoever's-name-she-was-married-to.
    3. Lasagna
    4. I like mine over-easy with toast so I can dip it in the yolk! (which is amazing since I'm such a picky eater). If I can't get it that way then I like scrambled.
    5. Tidiest: None of them, but the guest bathroom at the moment, Messiest: All of them.

We have a lot of Amish around here too and I've seen several versions like the one on bottom. We even have them around here w/ curtains - I think b/c of the all the people taking pictures, haha!

  8. Just dropping by to say hi!

and i love the idea, maybe i'll come back tonight and answers those questions and link up...
