The Calm Before the Storm

There's a calm before the storm.
(It's kind of eerie out there right now!)

The calm was quite evident to me last night.

We are right in the path of Hurricane Irene.

Today is spent in preparation.

We are picking everything in the garden that can possibly be picked.

This is the sunset in my window last night.

C.S.Farmer is busy trying to secure everything for the animals.
Some of them are so vulnerable.
After a morning in the garden, I'm trying to get things ready
in the house if we lose power.

Please keep us in your prayers. Not just us, but the whole Mid-Atlantic area. With one little puff, God could blow this whole
thing back out to sea.

Have a blessed and safe weekend!

  1. Dear Patrice, I will most certainly be thinking of you and your friends, family and neighbours. Hope you are all safe.

  2. Praying here! I hope you are spared from the storm along with the rest of the east coast.

    Take care.

  3. Thinking of you and everyone there on the east coast. Nature can be so horrific in her fury!

  4. I sure hope everyone on the east coast stays safe!

  5. I have been praying and will continue to do so. Your pictures are just lovely.

  6. I live on the Texas coast and I am alwyas watching the tropics this time of year. I will certainly say a prayer for you and your family...

  7. my goodness, those images are beautiful. i will pray for you and yours and all of those that may be affected...

  8. Keeping you in prayer as Irene keeps moving your way.

  9. Patrice, you are in my prayers as well as everyone in Irene's path. May God keep everyone safe from harm. I sure hope that your place will not come in harms way.

Stay safe my friend. Hugs & Prayers, Julia

  10. Hi Patrice

Praying for you and everybody else in the path of Irene. I hope you are all safe and sound

And thank you for your sweet comment on my post Monday. Yes i am a little behind ;-)

  11. Praying for your family, farm, and all those soon to be affected. I have family in Va. Beach - they just got hit w/ the earthquake the other day too. (cousin bought her dog a raincoat in preparation ;} )

  12. Good luck! It looks like the storm should be weakening, so hopefully everything will be OK!
Preparing for the storm and heightened anxieties is really hard on one's nerves.

  13. I'll be thinking of y'all all day! Email me when all is said and done so I'll know you're ok! Give Wendell an extra huge hug for me.
