Baby Vultures

My dear readers, I risked life and limb for you today. Many of you commented that you wanted to see the baby vultures that hatched in our barn. Easier said than done, but I am a determined gal. Mr. and Mrs. V normally watch the babies together. There was only one today. Perhaps the other one went out to get baby food at the local highway.
I tried to approach them several different ways, but I realized that they were quite good at hiding the little guys. I went to the same place that I photographed the eggs for you a few weeks ago. I couldn't see any babies, but I saw large black wings flapping and I heard loud hissing. I took two pictures that only showed the mess they have made in the barn. I wasn't about to stick my head through the barn opening, but I held my camera out a bit and took a few VERY QUICK pictures. Then I left before I was mistaken for "road kill".

We have pigeons and mourning doves in the barn and I know how hard it is to get a peek into their nests. Your photos are amazing.
Thank you for sharing. This is something not seen except on the nature channel.
