Handsome isn't lonely either!

Somebody else isn't happy today.

Somebody else was moving slowly and favoring his back left leg. The fat little pony has gorged himself on the green grass, just like his draft horse friend, Wendell. Cocoa has the same thing that his buddy has and they are recuperating in neighboring stalls.

It's difficult as a horse owner when the green grass comes up quickly. The horses pig out and this happens. That's why it's often called Green Grass Laminitis. I admit I've been asleep at the wheel. Not in the sense of resting, but this time of year we're swamped with work on the farm. There was only a tiny bit of green grass, then **BAM** it's tall and it's everywhere. The ideal thing is to put the horses up at night or some period of time to keep them from grazing non-stop.

Molly and Chip are up in a corral near the recovering patients. The one good thing as far as cocoa is concern, is visits from Molly.
"I'm only going to the water trough. There's no reason for me to visit
an 11.2 hand pony when I'm a beautiful 16.3 mare! Besides, he follows
me around snorting and saying he loves me. Yuk!"
"She visited me today! Ain't love grand?"

  1. Aw, the heart doodles made me giggle! :)

  2. oh those fat little beasties! it is true, the spring grass sneaks up on you.

  3. Aww, short guys need love too! ;)

  4. Hm, your horses sound like me during the holidays. I know I shouldn't eat all those cookies, but I just can't stop myself. Sigh.

Anyway, I hope your ponies are back to themselves soon! :) Thanks for linking up with the Bunny Hop!

  5. Thankyou for coming by my blog and visiting. I have to tell ya, you have a beautiful farm and should do landscape quilts of some of it.

  6. so cute!
Following you back via the Bunny Hop,
Liked you on FB and voted for you on the fence.
