Sister, take me away!

I was thrilled when my lovely sister invited the girls and me to go to Great Wolf Lodge for a few days. I had heard about it, but I never thought we could take  the time away to go there. We made it happen. My other sister joined us and we had three delightful days together. We played in all of the pools, floated in rafts, slid down water slides and wore ourselves out! There was also a "Magi Quest" that my youngest enjoyed with the help of her big sister. We also had the opportunity to visit Colonial Williamsburg. It was a wonderful break before the busiest time of year for our farm.

The entrance to Great Wolf.

The story time area where all the families with little
ones met for stories. It was more appropriate for
the toddler set, but my youngest enjoyed the time
with her super aunts.

A Williamsburg garden.

How old could a tree like this be? I bet it's seen a lot!

A pretty town with lots of history!

  1. How wonderful to get away for a visit with your sisters before spring arrives at the farm. If it ever does.

  2. Wasn't the Great Wolf Lodge on an episode of Undercover Boss? Maybe it was something like that. We love colonial Williamsburg! Aunt Betty has taken us all there! Have you ever visited Old Salem? Very similar. Sounds like you have a delightful time!

  3. I'm not so much for amusement type parks, but Colonial Williamsburg would be my type of place to visit. So glad you all got to spend some fun time before the hard work begins. :)

  4. I'm not generally a huge fan of the waterpark genre but if you must go these indoor types are the bomb!

I love the combo of fun and active for the kids, with a nice ambiance for ME!

So beautiful and how wonderful that you got away with your sisters. What wonderful memories you've made.

  7. oOo! I'd love to go to Great Wolf Lodge sometime, we passed it a few summers ago on our way to Virginia Beach to stay with relatives and it took everything I had to let Husband keep driving past. . .
I LOVE Williamsburg! So many memories of my Papaw dragging my other cousins (who hate history) through there - I think he knew more about the place than the tour guides do! We also went a few summers ago on the same trip, but it was right after 4th of July and there weren't too many activities going on, plus Preschooler was only 20 mos. and so he didn't "get" any of it (he did get a kick out of the Ye Olde Toy Shoppe tho). I'm definitely bringing the kids back when they're a little older. I just hope I can afford it then b/c it's expensive enough now!

  10. We went to Colonial Williamsburg 2 years ago when we were in the USA on holiday (vacation!). We absolutely loved it, and couldn't get over the fact that, at the entrance, there was a sign for Homeschoolers. Wow! Here in Scotland, we never met anyone who even know what a homeschooler was! And there they had a special sign for us... Woohoo! Great memories of your wonderful country x
