Operation Christmas Child

The shoe boxes were sent yesterday!
We took 71 shoe box gifts to the collection center for our church and family. It is fun to think of all  the ways that the boxes will travel to the children. Aside from the typical modes of transportation we have here, they travel in very different ways abroad. Imagine a gift you packed traveling by elephant, camel, dog sled, or traditional Asian boats. Wow!

Bloganza is here!
Don't forget that the multiple blog giveaway, Bloganza is running through December 6th. One person wins all the prizes. Then their mailman goes on an extended leave from work and they don't get mail for weeks.
No. It means that someone will have fun getting 25 prizes. I wish I could enter, but I'm one of the bloggers doing the giveaway. If you would like to read more about Bloganza, click here.

  1. That is a wonderful picture showing the true spirit of the season! :) God bless you and yours for all of your gifts to those kids!

  2. That is one trunk-full of joy:))))

  3. I see lots of hope in there :)

  4. Our church finished 87 of the shoe boxes for the children. I always try to visualize the child that might receive my boxes.

A few years ago one of the members actually recieved a Thank You note from one of the children. It took two years for her note to arrive. This is my favorite Christmas project.

  5. Just lovely, I bet it made you so happy deep down inside to deliver those gifts.Thank you so much for you sweet card. Here I am sick and it made me so happy. Ditto to all that you said. :)

  6. What a wonderful way to celebrate Christmas.
