Hallelujah

I think this is amazing! Imagine shopping and having this happen. I was naturally drawn to this with an opera daughter, but our whole family loves music and it's very likely that we would have joined in singing!

The Opera Company of Philadelphia had 650 singers from 28 organizations participating in this at the Macy's in Center City Philadelphia. This is from the Knight Foundation's "Random Acts of Culture." As a Christian, I love this. As a music lover, I love this! So cool!!!
Here is the link to the YouTube if you'd like to read more about it.

  2. I think I have watched this about 10 times, and I sit and cry every time. I do think it would have been such a experience to have been there and heard it in person. When I was a young girl I was Christmas shopping in the mall with one of my friends who was a pianist. For some reason there was a grand piano sitting there.
He walked up and started playing Christmas carols and the sound of the music and the acoustics in the mall were wonderful. He got quite a crowd up by just doing that. By the time he finished people were singing and we all walked away all friends. I think it would be something like that to have been there.

  3. As a choir member in high school, we sang the Hallelujah Chorus and it's always been a favorite. When it's done with such wonderful voices and with such power, it always makes my heart swell and my eyes well with tears. What a wonderful thing to share!

  6. Wow, just think how would you feel if you were actually there. That would probably go down in History if you ask me :)
