Monday's Music Moves Me

Photobucket

I had a visit from a blogger recently who has this fun meme for Mondays. It's just a way of sharing what we like with followers, people on this blog hop, and any reader. This blog hop has themes for each week and this week is a free theme.

I chose the following music clip from YouTube because the song is special to me. The Dixie Chicks sang the song 'Cowboy Take Me Away.' It was written by Martie Maguire for her sister Emily's relationship with singer, Charlie Robinson. Now, please put aside any feelings you may have regarding the group's political stand a few years back, if that's the case. I'm simply posting about a song I like. 'Cowboy Take Me Away' hits home with me. I'm the city girl who fell in love and moved to the country. C.S Farmer (Cute Stuff Farmer) isn't a cowboy, but "Farmer Take Me Away" just doesn't have the same ring to it! The song reminds me of the yearning I had for a simpler life that "Set me free, oh, I pray. Closer to Heaven above and closer to you."

This clip is not the original that went with the song. I found this on YouTube and loved it. Last year, I watched  a Hallmark movie called 'Straight from the Heart.' It was a wonderful, romantic movie. It was about a city girl and a cowboy. Take a look and find the movie, if you think you'd be interested.

  9. Well, after reading your comment, Elinor's should just stick together. :)Not to mention you love sunflowers and sunflowers are my favorite flower. I love all of your Mondays post(s) When my parents had a cow, I always wanted to make cream cheese. I never did, my kids were babies then and I never found the time.
I really like your barn too. I bet devotions in it would be so nice and peaceful.
Thanks for coming for a visit today.
It is a good way to start my morning.

  10. Me too, me too, I want to break some dirt off in my hands and look up in the sky without seeing a building...but fat chance of that happening anytime soon for me. But a great song choice for Monday's Music Moves Me. I loved it and its storyline. Sorry I'm late getting here - was on skates yesterday. Smiles.
