Bottle Caps

I spent some time two weeks ago  feeling a bit under the weather. When all four daughters ended up sick, I realized that I had just been fighting whatever it was. I stopped in a nearby health food store to visit the friendly owner and pick up a few things. In the refrigerator case, they have started carrying a sparkling green tea. I gave up soda years ago when they switched from sugar to high fructose corn syrup, so this looked promising to me. I tried the Black Cherry. I really enjoyed it.
When I got in my truck, I removed the bottle cap and found printing on the inside. It said the following:
I wasn't feeling too kind at that moment, so I put the bottle cap aside. The next day I opened one of the four packs of lemon- lime. Here was the next bottle cap:
That was nice. I felt full of sniffles and didn't feel very loved. Hmm? The following day I found this:
Not! Hey, come on bottle caps. I'm fighting the grunge and I must have the wrong bottle! Got any that say "I am Yucky?"
The next couple of days, I enjoyed not only the Lemon-Lime flavor, but the Root Beer. They were super, but I was still getting the wrong bottle caps. I had four sick kids, multiple trips up and down the stairs to take things to my "ill gals," and I was still seeing these positive bottle caps. Hmm?
Wrong address, bottle caps! I'm feeling rotten and my kids are a mess, but I love the tea!
Dream on!

I was enjoying a Root Beer when my husband entered the kitchen of our old farmhouse. I showed him the bottle cap.
Hubby: "Yeah, what 's that supposed to mean."
Me: (Displaying all the bottle caps)" It means I want to be a bottle cap when I grow up! They have it good."
He laughed and went back out to his tractor.

Moral of the story: There are days when we aren't receptive to things around us, even something positive. Now that the girls are feeling better and I am too, I think of how powerful self talk is. You can talk yourself into a good mood or a total slump! We owe it to ourselves and those around us to adopt ideas like these simple bottle caps. "I am Happy!" Of course I am. I'm blogging and drinking a sparkling Root Beer flavored tea.

  2. I have not heard of that brand either. Nice sayings and it is so true that you can talk yourself into a better mood/feeling. Snapple also has things written on their bottle caps.
