Mount St. Laundry

There aren't volcanoes on the East Coast, but I live right next to one. I live near Mount St. Laundry and daily it spews piles of dirty clothes all over the house. There is no smoke or ash. There is no molten lava covering everything nearby, just clothes. I have laundry hampers all over the house. I realize that you are probably saying that everyone has laundry. What's the big deal? I also realize that unless a family washed everything in sight while wearing only a smile, you can never get completely caught up with the chore. The big deal is the amount of laundry that farming can create. I do anywhere from fifteen to twenty loads of laundry a week! Our clothes end up with lots of E-I-E-I-O all over them. I'm happy to report that I have actually learned to make laundry detergent. I follow the blog of someone who left the city to move to a farm. She had a great "recipe" for making laundry soap. She experimented with the proportions of the ingredients to make sure they could get rid of the extreme dirt that comes from farming. Bless her! My volcano still sends laundry everywhere, but I'm ready for it now!
